Futures NBA Playoff Bets
The great thing about futures bets is that even the favorite is listed at plus-money. Heading into this year’s playoffs, Brooklyn is the overall favorite to win it all at +180.
Pay close attention to injuries or even players returning from injury. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both back in the Lakers lineup. They will have to win one game in the play-in tournament, but if they do watch out. A wager at +350 offers a nice payout should the Lakers repeat as NBA champs.

Betting on Game 3
Bettors should be on the lookout for potential Game 3 bets in a series where a team goes up 2-0. One of the more common occurrences in the NBA playoffs is for the team with home court advantage to win the first two games at home to take a 2-0 series lead.
When that happens, the team with the series lead tends to take its foot of the gas which often leads to a letdown in Game 3. On the other end, the team that is down 2-0 knows it cannot afford to go down 3-0. Not many teams recover from that deficit. Those teams tend to play with a little more urgency when down 2-0.
As a result, bettors that find teams down 2-0 that are getting points, should consider jumping on that bet.

Make Moneyline NBA Playoff Bets
If you like an underdog, consider betting them to win straight up on the moneyline. You will have to do your research, but when you find a potential upset opportunity bet the dog on the moneyline.
The great thing about moneyline bets on underdogs is that you don’t have to win even half of your bets to be successful. Consider the following.
You find three potential upsets and bet on the underdog on all three. If the moneyline odds average +210 for the three underdogs, you only need one of them to win to come out ahead.
If you’re going to bet favorites in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, stick to the spread where you’re not risking a lot more than you stand to win. If you want to take a risk on an underdog, bet on the moneyline.
The Player Prop Bet to Watch
In today’s NBA, the best teams have at least two stars in their lineup. For the Lakers, it’s James and Davis. The Clippers have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George and the Nets actually have three in Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden.
Now, when one of a team’s star players has a big game – 30-plus points – it has an impact on the other star player. That impact usually comes in the team’s next game.
For example, Leonard goes off for 42 points on a given night. The next game, George has the hot hand and scores over 30 points. It’s simple for the bettor.
Check the Over/Under for both players. Play the Under on the player that had big scoring numbers in the previous game and play the Over on the other player.
The idea is that the opponent will not want the one star to go off again, so the defense will make some adjustments. Those adjustments will, in turn, cause the other player to get more looks, more shot attempts, and more chances to score more points.
Home Court Advantage & NBA Playoff Bets
One final piece of advice in betting this NBA playoff bets season is related to home court advantage. In the postseason, playing on the home court has a greater impact. The home team wins 65 percent of its games at home in the playoffs.
Two teams in particular enjoy huge home court advantages because they play at elevation. Utah, which will be the No. 1 seed in the West, and Denver, the third seed, will both enjoy home court advantage this playoff season. Keep that in mind when betting on either team.
